Tax Experience

Mr. Troupe is an IRS licensed Enrolled Agent (E.A.) and has approximately 19 years of tax experience and accounting experience. He started his professional tax career in 1998 at the intentional accounting firm, Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu International (“Deloitte & Touche”) which at the time was one of the “Big Six” accounting firms. Mr. Troupe worked in the areas of business and individual income taxes, payroll taxes, multistate tax, sales and use taxes, estate taxes, and gift taxes.

As for income taxes, he has prepared complex consolidated tax returns for international corporations, multitier partnership tax returns with foreign partners, multistate business income tax returns, high net worth individuals income tax returns, and regular employee type tax returns. Mr. Troupe is versed in the advance tax planning needs of business owners, closely-held business entities, and wealthy individuals. In additional, Mr. Troupe has experience working with taxpayers who qualify for the earned income tax credit (EIC tax credit).

Mr. Troupe has addressed the tax needs of high profile celebrities, sport personalities, esteemed bussiness owners, senior executives of fortune 500 companies, successful entrepreneurs, professionals (doctors, lawyers, and real estate agents, etc.), expatriates, nonresident aliens, and average hard working Americans.

Mr. Troupe is an IRS licensed Enrolled Agent (E.A.) with a diversified background ranging from a litigation paralegal to a corporate accountant.

In addition to founding and operating TheTaxExpert.com, Mr. Troupe operates 123NonProfits.com and eQuitzed.com.  Also, Mr. Troupe is a business consultant through his firm, Advisers LLC. Mr. Troupe provides consulting in the areas of income tax planning and preparation, sales and use tax issues, payroll tax issues, property tax issues, bookkeeping, accounting, financial statement preparation, accounting system setup, entity structuring, corporate formation, financial planning, and money management. Also, Mr. Troupe offers services of preparing business proposals, business plans, responding to RFP’s, conducting due diligence, providing general business consulting, assisting other investors with real estate deals. Mr. Troupe specializes in issues related to non-profits such as formation, structuring, operation, and funding. Mr. Troupe is well versed in equity based financing options such as direct public offerings (DPO’s), private placement offering, and pre-IPO planning.

Prior to TheTaxExpert.com and Advisers LLC, Mr. Troupe worked as a senior tax consultant and business manager with the accounting firm of Zivetz, Schwartz, & Saltsman, CPAs (“ZSS”). In his position with the firm, Mr. Troupe designed, established, and implemented one of the firm’s most lucrative service lines. During the course of Mr. Troupe’s employment with the firm, he held several positions of responsibility.

In his role as a senior tax consultant, he advised clients on complex tax issues, prepared tax returns, and performed tax planning. As a business manager, Mr. Troupe was in charge of the firm’s business management group. Heading up this group, Mr. Troupe managed the business affairs of entertainment clients and high net worth individuals, assisted business owners with managerial decisions, and trained and supervised other group members. Also, Mr. Troupe assisted the firm with office manager’s duties including hiring and supervising office staff, developing marketing and sales campaigns, and performing client development. In addition, Mr. Troupe was the firm’s insurance and financial advisor to clients.

Prior to ZSS, Mr. Troupe worked as an assistant account manager for the business management firm, Bernstein, Fox, Whitman & Company LLP (“BFW”). With BFW, Mr. Troupe managed the business affairs of high profile TV entertainers, movie stars, directors, producers, and writers.

Prior to BFW, Mr. Troupe was employed with the international accounting firm, Deloitte & Touche LLP as an accountant. With Deloitte & Touche, Mr. Troupe researched tax issues, analyzed tax transactions, prepared business entities’ tax returns, recruited lawyers and accountants, worked with mergers and acquisitions, sales and use tax issues, and mult-state tax issues.

Prior to Deliotte & Touche LLP, Mr. Troupe worked in the legal profession as a paralegal for several law firms including the Law Offices of Stephen J. Buchanan and the Law Office of Maureen L. Taylor. During Mr. Troupe’s employment in the legal industry, he prepared various types of legal pleadings and documents. He handled bankruptcy issues for both creditor and debtor’s sides for clients such Toyota Motors and Nissan Motors, formed business entities such as C-Corporations, S-Corporations, Limited Liability Companies (“LLC”) and Partnerships, dealt with family law issues such as divorces, and handled legal issues related to small business and contractual law.

Mr. Troupe has held insurance and investment licenses. Mr. Troupe has a background in selling a broad range of services and products including clothes, insurance, legal services, accounting services and products, and financial products. Mr. Troupe is a business broker with Sunbelt Business Sales and Acquisitions where he assist in the sale of privately held businesses. Mr. Troupe’s other areas of work have included managing a blues night club, silk screen and clothes business, insurance and financial planning, and business consulting.

Mr. Troupe received his Bachelor of Science degree in accounting for the University of Southern California (USC) where he was an honor student. Also, Mr. Troupe completed approximately 98 units at West Los Angeles College with an emphasis in business and paralegal studies.
